HomeMy WebLinkAbout17724 ORD - 07/20/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE SECTION 2-153 TO SPECIFY THAT CERTAIN FUNDS REMAINING IN THE TOURIST AND CONVENTION DEVELOPMENT FUND AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR BE TRANSFERRED TO THE PERMANENT ART TRUST FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 2, Administration, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended, be amended by adding to Section 2-153 thereof after the second sentence the following statement: At the end of each fiscal year, the remaining balance, if any, from the Arts Cultural Projects activity in the Tourist and Convention Development Fund shall automatically be transferred to the Fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the imperative public necessity and pressing need for a transfer of funds to support the acquisition and construction of permanent art works within the City, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring the suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this the 26W—day of July, 1983.
