HomeMy WebLinkAbout17733 ORD - 07/27/1983AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF THE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS LISTED BELOW TO THE TEXAS STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR INCLUSION IN THE URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That improvements to the following named streets (listed in priority order) be submitted to the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for inclusion in the Urban Systems Program for construction: 1. Baldwin Boulevard - Agnes Street to Leopard Street, 2. Saratoga Boulevard - South Staples Street to Weber Road, 3. Saratoga Boulevard - Weber Road to Ayers Street, 4. Alameda Street Overlay - Doddridge to Parade, 5. Kostoryz Road Overlay - S. Staples St. to S. Padre Island Dr., 6. Redbird Lane - Calallen Drive to U.S. Hwy. 77, 7. McArdle Road - Ayers Street to Carroll Lane, 8. McArdle Road - Crescent Street to Nile Drive, 9. Traffic Signalization - Various Intersections, 10. McKenzie Road - Leopard Street to H.I. 37. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to submit the hereinabove described streets for inclusion in the Urban Systems Program at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 427 day of July, 1983.
