AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF
B. W. BELL, SR. AND B. W. BELL, JR. BY CHANGING THE
ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF SECTION 8, RANGE
S, KINNEY SECTIONALIZED LANDS, FROM "I-2" LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "T -1B" MOBILE HOME PARK DISTRICT;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of B. W. Bell, Sr.
and B. W. Bell, Jr., for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, July 27,
1983, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber
at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on the hereinafter described tract of
land described as a portion out of Section 8, Range S, Kinney Sectionalized
Lands, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be
changed from "I-2" Light Industrial District to "T -1B" Mobile Home Park
District:
FIELDNOTES for proposed T-lB zoning of 85.00 acres of
land, more or less, out of Section 8, Range S of Kinney
Sectionalized Lands, Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a concrete monument marking the intersection
of the East boundary of Rhew Road, formerly known as
Hunter Road, with the South boundary of Leopard Street,
also knwon as State Highway 9;
THENCE South 54° 32' 43" West 80.50 feet with the flare
in the East boundary line of Rhew Road to a concrete

THENCE, with the East boundary of Rhew Road, South 0° 51'
00" East 361.88 feet to a 5/8 inch iron rod for the
Northwest corner and the Point of Beginning of this
tract;
THENCE, South 65° 21' 00" East 1453.00 feet, more or
less, to a 5/8 inch iron rod for the Northeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE South 00° 54' 00" East, 2511.27 feet, more or
less, to a 2 inch iron pipe for the Southeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE, South 89° 20' 00" West 1312.68 feet to a 2 inch
pipe on the East boundary of Rhew Road for the Southwest
corner of this tract;
THENCE, with the East boundary of Rhew Road and the West
boundary of this tract North 0° 51' 00" West 3132.59 feet
to the Northwest corner and the Point of Beginning.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from
time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed ��an�d[(

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
