HomeMy WebLinkAbout17756 ORD - 08/03/1983AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE 10 FOOT WIDE UTILITY EASEMENT ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF LOT 1, BLOCK 6, WOOD RIVER UNIT 1; SUBJECT TO PROVISIONS LISTED BELOW; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, there exists a 10 foot wide utility easement along the south side of Lot 1, Block 6, Wood River Unit 1, shown by plat in Volume 44, Pages 180-182, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said easement, subject to the provisions listed below: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned the 10 foot wide utility easement along the south side of Lot 1, Block 6, Wood River Unit 1, shown by plat in Volume 44, Pages 180-182, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, providing that the property be replatted at the owner's expense, and that the applicant pay $2,177.34 for abandonment of the existing two inch gas line in said easement. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the aforesaid utility easement, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of August, 1983.
