CANCELLING THE APPROPRIATION OF $66,140 BY ORDINANCE NO.
13833 DATED JULY 13, 1977, FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH
CONSTRUCTION; APPROPRIATING $66,140 FOR THE ACQUISITION
OF A PARCEL OF LAND (FORMER MAI -TAI SITE) BY CONDEMNATION
FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH RESTORATION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $66,140 by Ordinance No.
13833 dated July 13, 1977, for the Corpus Christi Beach Construction is
hereby cancelled.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $66,140 out of the
No. 291 Park Bond Fund for the acquisition of a parcel of land (former
Mai -Tai site) by condemnation for the Corpus Christi Beach Restoration,
Project 291-72-11.1.
Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by
appropriating the funds necessary for the acquisition of the abovementioned
parcel of land by condemnation at the earliest practicable date, such finding
of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordiannce is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 24th day of August, 1983.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
