AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING ARTICLE 31,
NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY, BY AMENDING SUBSECTION, 31-5.46
BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF SAID AREA OF
LAND DESCRIBED AS 7.04 ACRES OUT OF LOT 2, SECTION 11,
BOHEMIAN COLONY LANDS, NOW PREZONED "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE
DISTRICT TO "R-2" MULTIPLE DWELLING DISTRICT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Jack Ryan for
amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, August 24,
1983, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber
at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and the City Council further
finds as follows:
(1) That the Planning Commission of the City of Corpus Christi has
found the proposed change in zoning is in the public interest and within the
purpose of the zoning ordinance; and, that permanent zoning of "R-2" Multiple
Dwelling District, Nueces County, Texas, more fully described hereinafter, be
granted;
(2) That the agreement for the contractual annexation of the land
described herein to the City of Corpus Christi does not contain any condition
of rezoning said land by the City Council, and that such contract contains no
reference to zoning;
(3) That the permanent zoning as hereinabove set forth be granted
to the aforesaid described and hereinafter more fully described parcels or
tracts of land; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendments
would serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby amended Article 31 of the Zoning
Ordinance, Section 31-5, by amending Subsection 31-5.46 to hereafter read as
follows, such zoning classification of the hereinafter described properties
to be effective upon annexation:
"Section 31-5.46. The following described tract of land shall be
zoned and classified as follows:
"R-2" Multiple Dwelling District on the following more particularly
described tract:
FIELDNOTES for proposed R-2 zoning of 7.04 acres, more or
less, of land out of Lot 2, Section 11, Bohemian Colony
Lands, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Page 48,
Map Records of Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at the South corner of this tract from which
corner of the East subdivision corner of Breckenridge
Unit 1, a map of which is recorded in Volume 46, Pages
131 and 132 of said Map Records bears South 61°32'00"
East 1274.93 feet, more or less, thence South 29°05'00"
West 250.00 feet, more or less.
THENCE North 61°32'00" West 745.83 feet, more or less, to
the West corner of this tract;
THENCE North 28°28'00" East 409.97 feet, more or less, to
the North corner of this tract;
THENCE South 61°32'00" East 751.05 feet, more or less, to
the East corner of this tract;
THENCE South 29°05'00" West 410.00 feet, more or less, to
the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from
time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take ffect upon first reading��eas an emergency measure this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
