HomeMy WebLinkAbout17827 ORD - 09/14/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17389 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: Airline Road, from Williams Drive to Holly Road AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17389, passed and approved December 15, 1982, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: Airline Road, from Williams Drive to Holly Road a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the/,4, day of September, 1983. FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AIRLINE ROAD FROM WILLIAMS DRIVE TO HOLLY ROAD This project shall include improvements to Airline Road within the limits described and provides for excavation to a width and depth to permit the construction of a 62 foot wide street (back to back of curb) within the existing 80 foot wide right-of-way. The improvements include a standard 6" curb and gutter section, 6" thick stabilized subgrade, 8" thick flexible base (caliche), 5-3/4" asphalt stabilized base, and 1-1/4" of Hot Mix asphaltic pavement. There will be 4' wide reinforced concrete sidewalks, 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans. This project is being constructed by the City and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment project. Based on the low bid submitted by Heldenfels Brothers, Inc., and the City's current assessment policy, abutting property owners are assessed at the following rates: Bid Price Assessment Rate Curb, Gutter & Pavement $52.66 L.F. $19.50 L.F.
