HomeMy WebLinkAbout17856 ORD - 09/28/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-77 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR ALTERNATE FUELING SITES IN THE MUNICIPAL MARINA AND RULES AND CHARGES RELATED THERETO. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 12, Boats, Bays and Waterways, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be amended by changing Section 12-77 thereof, to hereinafter read as follows: The fueling of inboard tanks on boats is hereby prohibited in every place in the marina except at the fuel station docks or at such other alternate fueling sites as designated by the marina superintendent in accordance with this section. The marina superintendent may designate alternate sites for commercial fueling operations within the marina subject to the following safety requirements: (a) Each site shall be suitably marked as an alternate fueling station. (b) Only diesel fuel may be transferred. (c) Suitable fire extinguishers and grounding cables will be required at each fueling operation. (d) Fuel shall be pumped either by mechanical hand pumps or tanker truck installed pumps. (e) No open containers or siphons may be used. (f) All hoses must be certified for diesel use. The fee for use of any such alternate fueling sites shall be one percent (1%) of the gross receipts for fuel transferred which fee shall be paid by the contractor conducting such fueling operations. A cash deposit equal to one percent (1%) of the wholesale cost of the fuel transported to the fueling site will be required prior to scheduling any fuel deliveries. The marina superintendent shall schedule such fueling operations on a first come -first served basis.
