Home My WebLink About17868 ORD - 10/05/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12, BOATS, BAYS AND WATERWAYS, OF THE CITY CODE TO PROVIDE FOR NEW RATES ND FEES FOR THE RENTAL OF BOAT SLIPS AND RELATED REGULATIONS THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 1, 1983. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 12, Boats, Bays and Waterways, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended, be amended by amending Section 12-61, subsection (2), the first paragraph thereof, to hereinafter read as follows: (2) MONTHLY RATES AND RENTAL FEES: The monthly rate and rental fee for boat slips in the Corpus Christi Marina shall be nine cents ($0.09) per square foot per month, determined by multiplying the rate times the number of square feet of the slip. The minimum rate for all slips less that four hundred thirty (430) square feet shall be thirty-eight dollars and seventy cents ($38.70). A limited amount of tap water is included in this rate. The monthly rate for charter boat slips is established at eighteen cents ($0.18) per square foot per month, determined by multiplying the rate times the number of square feet of the slip. The monthly rate for commercial boats shall be eleven and four -tenths cents ($0.114) per square foot. Ten dollars• ($10.00) per month additional charge shall be placed on slips rented to parties who do not maintain a primary permanent residence in the city. In addition, an electricity surcharge will be added to the monthly charge determined by the length of craft within a slip, as follows: Pleasure Commercial Charter Craft up to twenty (20) feet in length $ 3.00 $ 5.00 $ 7.00 Craft between twenty (20) and thirty (30) feet in length 5 50 7.50 9.50 Craft between thirty (30) and forty (40) feet in length 10 50 12.50 14.50 Craft over forty (40) feet in length 19 00 21.00 23.00 Meters shall be installed by the city to determine if the monthly surcharge is inadequate; where an increase in service above the surcharge rate exists, actual usage will be applied. In addition, charter boat tenants shall obtain their own source of electricity and, at their own expense, make any connections required by the utility company and pay for such usage of electricity. SECTION 2. That Section 12-79 of Chapter 12, Boats, Bays and Waterways, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as 17968 "SEP 28 1984 MICROFILMED amended, be amended by adding after the second sentence of subsection (a) thereof the following: For any person whose total deposits for slip rental required by this section exceed the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000), a surety bond or certificate of deposit in an equivalent amount with principal payable to the City may be tendered as a deposit in lieu of a cash deposit. SECTION 3.
