AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $25,000 OUT OF THE 1983-84 TOURIST AND
CONVENTION DEVELOPMENT FUND TO THE PERMANENT ART TRUST FUND
AS RECOMMENDED BY THE MUNICIPAL ARTS COMMISSION; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $25,000 from the
1983-84 Tourist and Convention Development Fund, Activity No. 331.531.12-301,
Art Projects, to the Permanent Art Trust Fund (Ordinance No. 17189, as amended;
Trust Fund No. 111-000-243.61-000) as recommended by the Municipal Arts
Commission on October 4, 1983.
Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by
appropriating the funds aforementioned at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 12 day of October, 1983.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
