HomeMy WebLinkAbout17878 ORD - 10/12/1983AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $557,514 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A PARCEL OF LAND (PARCEL 1) BY CONDEMNATION FOR THE MAIN LIBRARY SITE LAND ACQUISITION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $557,514 out of the No. 269 Library Bond Fund for the acquisition of a parcel of land (Parcel 1) by condemnation for the Main Library Site Land Acquisition, Project 269-82-1. Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by appropriating the funds necessary for the acquisition of the abovementioned parcel of land by condemnation at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordiannce is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 12th day of October, 1983.
