HomeMy WebLinkAbout17902 ORD - 10/26/1983TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $83,288.34 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 6 AND 8 BY CONDEMNATION FOR THE WOOLDRIDGE-STAPLES DRAINAGE OUTFALL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $83,288.34 out of the No. 295 Storm Sewer Bond Fund for the acquisition of parcels 6 and 8 by condemnation for the Wooldridge -Staples Drainage Outfall, Project 295-70-66, said parcels being described by metes and bounds as follows: Parcel 6 Being an irregularly shaped tract out of Lot 19, Section 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm & Garden Tracts, as shown by map in Volume A, Page 38, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and further described as follows: Beginning at the south corner of said Lot 19; Thence N. 60°55'30" W., along the southwest lot line of said Lot 19, 365.27 feet to a point; Thence along the arc of a circular curve to the left, whose central angle is 17°07'34", Radius = 620.22 feet, tangent = 93.39 feet, a distance of 184.69 feet to a point of reverse curvature; - Thence along the arc of a circular curve to the right, whose central angle is 17°07'34", radius = 620.22 feet, tangent = 93.39 feet, a distance of 184.69 feet to point; Thence S 29°04'30" W., 55.00 feet to the point of beginning and containing 0.231 acres, mroe or less. Parcel 8 Being an irregularly shpaed shaped tract of land out of Lots 21 and 22, Section 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, as shown by map of record in Volume A, Pages 41, 42, 43, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at the most westerly corner of abovementioned SBP 2 8 Lot 21; 1984 FP 2P ii 17 302 MICROFILMED Thence N. 29°04'30" E., along the northwest line of Lot 21, a distance of 55.0 feet to a point; Thence S. 60°55'30"E., along a line that is 55.0 feet northeast of and parallel to the southwest line of Lots 21 and 22, a distance of 1203.05 feet to a point; Thence N. 74°04'30" E., along a line, a distance of 70.71 feet to a point; Thence N. 29°04'30", a distance of 399.16 feet to a point; Thence N. 40°55'01" E., a distance of 158.37 feet to a point, said point being on the northwest line of an existing 75.0 foot drainage easement; Thence S. 29°04'30" W., along the northwest line of said drainage easement, a distance of 155.0 feet to a point; Thence S. 60°55'30" E., a distance of 37.5 feet to a point, said point being on the southeast line of Lot 22; Thence S. 29°04'30" W., along the southeast line of Lot 22, a distance of 504.16 feet to a point, said point being the most southern corner of Lot 22; Thence N. 60°55'30" W., along the southwest line of Lots 21 and 22, a distance of 1323.05 feet to the point of beginning and containing 2.479 acres, more or less. Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by appropriating the funds necessary for the acquisition of the abovementioned parcels of land by condemnation at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordiannce is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 26th day of October, 1983. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting .upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
