AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $141,422.04 FOR CURBS, GUTTERS, AND PAVING
COSTS OF ONE-HALF THE STREETS ABUTTING CERTAIN TRACTS OF
LAND IN GALLEON BAY PARK; AUTHORIZING $24,220 FROM THE
UNRESTRICTED PARK TRUST FUND FOR RESIDUAL VALUE OF GALLEON
BAY PARK IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO PADRE ISLES
INVESTMENT CORPORATION OF $165,642.04 FOR THE CITY'S SHARE
IN DEVELOPMENT OF AFOREMENTIONED TRACTS FOR PARK AREAS
SUBJECT TO DEDICATION OF SAID TRACTS FOR PARK USE;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT DEDICATION OF SAID
TRACTS OF LAND FOR PARK USE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $141,422.04 from the No.
220 Street Bond Fund for curbs, gutters, and paving costs of one-half the
streets abutting certain tracts of land, all as described and filed in the
Nueces County, Texas Map Records, in Galleon Bay, Padre Island, Section 3, Block
84A, Volume 33, Pages 83-84; Barataria Bay, Unit 3, Lot 11, Block 714, Volume
34, Pages 86-87; Point Tesoro, Unit 3, Lot 20, Block 18, Volume 35, Pages 22-23;
Ports O'Call, Lot 1, Block 11, Volume 38, Pages 62-68; and Island Fairway
Estates, Block 21, Volume 39, Pages 198-199.
SECTION 2. Authorizing $24,220.00 from the Unrestricted Park Trust
Fund No. 111 for residual value of Galleon Bay park improvements according to
the Park Agreement dated October 15, 1968, Ordinance No. 9081 applicable to
Project No. 220-77-94, Padre Island Parks Paving.
SECTION 3. Authorizing payment to Padre Isles Investment Corporation
the aggregate sum of $165,642.04 for the City's share in development of the
aforementioned tracts for park areas subject to dedication of said tracts for
park use.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
dedication of said tracts of land for park use, including permanent operation
and maintenance.
SECTION, 5. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need to appropriate the aforementioned amounts at the earliest practicable date,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at

three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2nd day of November, 1983.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
