HomeMy WebLinkAbout17922 ORD - 11/02/1983TEXAS: L 4 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 55-55 OF THE CITY CODE WHICH PROVIDED FOR A POLICY ON WATER MAIN ASSESSMENTS; REPEALING CERTAIN OTHER ORDINANCES IMPLEMENTING SAID POLICY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Chapter 55, Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended, be amended by repealing Section 55-55, Policy on Water Main Assessments, in its entirety. SECTION 2. That the following ordinances implementing the aforesaid policy for the improvements to the water distribution system of the H.E.B. Park Area be repealed: Ordinance No. 17334 which determined the necessity and ordered the improvements for said project. Ordinance No. 17335 which approved the City Engineer's statement and authorized that a portion of the cost be paid by assessments upon abutting property owners for said project. Ordinance No. 17414 which closed the public hearing and fixed liens to charges on the abutting properties for said project. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor, or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate and effective administration of City affairs by_ repealing the aforementioned Policy on Water Main Assessments, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2nd day of November, 1983.
