AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING APPENDIX H OF THE BUILDING CODE ADOPTED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 15256 TO EXEMPT UNOCCUPIED MOBILE HOMES ON
DEALER'S SALES LOTS FROM TIE -DOWN REQUIREMENTS EXCEPT DURING
PERIODS OF TIME DESIGNATED AS BEING A HURRICANE WARNING OR
ALERT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the Building Code of the City of Corpus Christi,
adopted by Ordinance No. 15256, passed and approved by the City Council on
December 12, 1979, as amended, is hereby amended as follows:
b. Appendix "H" - Mobile Home Tie -Down Standards is hereby amended by
amending Section H-4 thereof to hereafter read as follows:
"H-4" - Exception for Sales Lots
Unoccupied mobile homes on mobile home dealers sales lots shall be
anchored, as a minimum, at each corner of the mobile home. A frame tie, an
over -the -roof tie anchor, connections, and piers and footings shall be installed
at each corner in accordance with the foregoing paragraphs, during such periods
of time as are designated by the United States Weather Center as being a
hurricane warning or alert.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its
publication one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi,
which publication shall contain the caption stating in summary the purpose of
the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
