AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $8,480 FOR STORAGE ROOM EXPANSION AT THE
CONVENTION CENTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $8,480 from the No. 209
Convention Center Bond Fund for Change Order No. 1, providing for storage room
expansion at the Convention Center, all as set forth in the change order, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need to appropriate the aforementioned amounts at the earliest practicable date,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 1st day of December, 1983.

Gentlemen:
Attn: Mr.Gerald Smith,City Engineer
With respect to above proposed change order,we will be glad to con-
structthe storage room per planlet given us for the sum•of $8,480.00.
It is our understanding that this work would be done right away as
we are in the process of moving out now from the Barge Dock project and
would like to know in the next day or two.
Mr.Webb Pel has advised that his people will move out the existing
equipment and materials he now has in the space to be converted into the
storage room and could do so immedietely.
