AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF R. N.
CONOLLY, SR. BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A
PORTION OUT OF LOT 1, SECTION 4, BOHEMIAN COLONY LANDS, FROM
"R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B-4" GENERAL
BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of R. N. Conolly, Sr.
for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, December 1, 1983, at Regular
Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot 1, Section 4, Bohemian
Colonyy Lands, as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling
District to "B-4" General Business District.
Approximately 3.826 acres, more or less, out of Lot 1,
Section 4, Bohemian Colony Lands as shown by plat recorded
in Volume A, Page 48, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas,
more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the southwest right-of-way of Trojan
Drive for the most northerly corner and POINT OF BEGINNING
of this tract, whence the most easterly corner of Lot 8,
Section 4, of said Bohemian Colony Lands bears N 29°04'13" E
35.00 feet and N 61°33'30" W 852.50 feet;
THENCE with the southwest right-of-way line of Trojan Drive
S 61°33'30" E 401.24 feet to a point at the intersection of
the southwest right-of-way line of Trojan Drive and the

northwest right-of-way line of the Crosstown Expressway
Access Road for the most easterly corner of this tract;
THENCE with the northwest right-of-way line of the Crosstown
Expressway Access Road as follows: S 45°51'38" W 266.08
feet, S 62°18'58" W 301.95 feet, S 70°39'57" W 239.05 feet,
to a point for the most westerly corner of this tract;
THENCE N 29°04'13" E 681.64 feet to a point in the southwest
right-of-way line of Trojan Drive and the POINT OF BEGINNING
of this tract.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
