APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 6 TO THE CONTRACT WITH F & E
ERECTION COMPANY FOR THE SECOND PHASE OF EXPANSION OF THE
OSO WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT WHICH PROVIDES FOR
LANDSCAPING AT THE PLANT SITE; APPROPRIATING 29,532.66; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby approved change order no. 6 to the
contract with F & E Erection Company for the second phase of expansion of the
Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant which provides for landscaping at the plant site,
all as more fully set forth in the change order, a substantial copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".
Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 7th day of December, 1983.

PART A: NECESSITY OF THE CHANGE ORDER:
Job No. 9254.30
This Change Order involves additional landscaping to the Oso W.W.T.P.
at the request of the City of Corpus Christi. The landscaping additions
are itemized as follows:
1. Fifty (50) Salt Cedar Bushes
2. Two Hundred (200) Red Oleander Bushes
3. Twenty -Five (25) Live Oak Trees
4. Thirty -Six (36) Mesquite Trees
5. Twenty (20) Juniper Bushes -=-
6. Two Thousand (2000) Asiatic Jasmine Ground Cover Plants
7. Two Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Eight feet (2,998') of Drip Irrigation
System
8. Automatic Sprinkler System for the Plant Entrance Sign.
This Change Order also involves deletion of forty (40) Chinese Tallow
Trees from the original contract.
PART B: DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:
The additional Salt Cedar Bushes will be planted just outside the new fence
on the north side of the plant site. Red Oleander Bushes will be planted
just outside of the proposed levee from the plant's Ennis Joslin Road
entrance, past the new plant entrance road on Nile Road and continuing
along Nile Road to the back of Pharoah Valley Subdivision. Live Oak
trees will be planted inside the new fence on both the east and south sides
of the plant site. The additional Mesquite Trees will be planted on both
sides of the new plant entrance road off Nile Road. Juniper Bushes and the
Jasmine Ground Cover Plants will be planted around the new plant entrance
sign adjacent to Nile Road. The drip irrigation system will be installed
parallel to Nile Road from the Ennis Joslin Road plant entrance to the
back of Pharoah Valley Subdivision to water Oleander Bushes, Mesquite and
Palm Trees that will be remote from the plant site irrigation system. An
automatic sprinkler system will be installed for the plant entrance
sign along Nile Road.
