HomeMy WebLinkAbout17995 ORD - 12/21/1983' AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE GROUP HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASED RATES, A TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE INSURANCE FUND TO THE GROUP HOSPITALIZATON FUND, AND INCREASED APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE GROUP HOSPITALIZATION FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to increase rates for the Group Hospital Program by an amount equal to twelve percent (12%), effective January 1, 1984, and to adjust such rates from time to time as may be warranted by increasing health care costs, employee participation, and expenses related to the Program. SECTION 2. That the sum of $250,000 be transferred from the Insurance Fund to the Group Hospitalization Fund. SECTION 3. That the budget for the Group Hospitalization Fund be amended by increasing estimated revenues by $500,000 and increasing appropriations by $500,000. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to imperative public necessity to implement new rates and funding for the Group Hospitalization Program on January 1, 1984, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the iftkday of December, 1983.
