AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 57-152 PERTAINING TO THE ZONES
AND FARES OF THE AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE; AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 13130 WHICH AUTHORIZED THE AIRPORT LIMOUSINE
SERVICE FRANCHISE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi,
as amended, be amended by amending Chapter 57, Vehicles for Hire, Article III,
Airport Limousine Service, Section 57-152, Zones and fares, to provide a new
schedule of fares for Zones 1 through 4, as follows:
For Zone 1, changing the fare to $ 6.00.
For Zone 2 East, changing the fare to $ 7.00.
For Zone 2 West, changing the fare to $ 7.00.
For Zone 3, changing the fare to $ 8.00.
For Zone 4, changing the fare to $11.00.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 13130 which authorized the airport
limousine service franchise with Airport Transportation of Corpus Christi, Inc.,
be amended by adding the following provision to said franchise as Article XV:
Grantee agrees to provide to the City, in addition to its
certified monthly revenue statements as required by
paragraph III herein, monthly reports showing usage of the
limousine service and revenues by zone. Grantee further
agrees to bring current all arrearages on amounts owed the
City under this Contract by April 1, 1984; and in the event
any such arrearages are not fully paid as hereby required,
Grantee shall have no further right to impose the new fares
provided in Section 1 above but said fares shall revert to
the levels authorized by previous ordinance and the City
shall commence termination proceedings of this franchise.
SECTION 3. The rates provided in this ordinance shall take effect
from and after its publication one time in the official publication of the City
of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain the caption stating in
summary the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall
not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council
that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision
hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
