HomeMy WebLinkAbout18027 ORD - 01/11/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION 4%0F CHAPARRAL RESORT PROPERTIES BY CHANGING THE ZONING..MAP IN REFERENCE TO LOTS 1 THROUGH 12, BLOCK A-6, AND LOTS 2, 4 AND A PORTION OF LOT 6, BLOCK 75, BROOKLYN ADDITION, FROM "B-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT AND "AT" APARTMENT TOURIST DISTRICT TO "B-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Chaparral Resort Properties for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, January 11, 1984, at Special Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on Lots 1 through 12, Block A-6, and Lots 2, 4, and a portion of Lot 6, Block 75, Brooklyn Addition as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "B-1" Neighborhood Business District and "AT" Apartment Tourist District to "B-4" General Business District. FIELDNOTES for the Southwest 15.00 feet of Lot 6 and a portion of the Northwest one-half (10.00 feet) of a 20.00 foot wide alley closed and not in use, Block 75, Brooklyn Addition, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Pages 30, 31, 32, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas: & JCROFI.LMED SEP 2 81984 18027 BEGINNING on the Southeast boundary line of U.S. Highway No. 181 at the common front corner of Lots 4 and 6, said Block 75 for the West corner of this survey; THENCE North 32°00'00" East, along the Southeast boundary line of U.S. Highway No. 181, 15.00 feet to a 5/8 inch iron rod set for the North corner of this survey; THENCE leaving U.S. Highway No. 181, South 58°00'00" East, parallel with the common boundary line of said Lots 4 and 6 thereof and 15.00 feet distant therefrom, measured at right angles thereto, at 130.00 feet pass a 5/8 inch iron rod set on the Northwest right-of-way of said 20.00 foot wide closed alley, in all a distance of 140.00 feet to a point on the centerline of said alley for the East corner of this survey; THENCE South 32°00'00" West, along the centerline of said alley, 15.00 feet to its intersection with the Southeast extension of the common boundary line of said Lots 4 and 6 for the South corner of this survey; THENCE leaving said centerline alley, North 58°00'00" West, along said Southeast extension, at 10.00 feet pass the common rear corner of said Lots 4 and 6 and continuing along the common boundary line of Lots 4 and 6, in all a distance of 140.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, containing 2,100.00 square feet of land of which 1,950.00 square feet of land are contained within the Southwest 15.00 feet of Lot 6 and 150.00 square feet of land are contained within that portion of said alley. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take e ect upon first rading as an emergency measure this the !/ day of !�„ 19y ATTEST: ity ec etary MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Corpus Christi, T s //4— day of , 198 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
