HomeMy WebLinkAbout18033 ORD - 01/18/1984AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE REHABILITATION OF EIGHT TRANSIT BUSES BY HOUSTON TRUCK AND COACH, INC.; APPROPRIATING $570,876; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby authorized the rehabilitation of eight (8) 4519-A GMC Transit Buses by Houston Truck and Coach, Inc. and on -sight inspection expense, for a total of $570,876 as provided for in the 1981 UMTA Capital Grant Project No. TX -05-0073. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218 Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218-77-2, Transit System Capital Improvements (1981), the amount of $570,876 for the rehabilitation and on -sight inspection of eight (8) 4519-A GMC Transit Buses. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by appropriating the abovementioned funds at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 18th day of January, 1984.
