APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 13 TO THE CONTRACT WITH F & E
ERECTION COMPANY FOR THE SECOND PHASE OF EXPANSION OF THE
OSO WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT WHICH PROVIDES FOR
POTABLE WATER SUPPLY AT THE CHLORINE BUILDINGS;
APPROPRIATING $11,702.98; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
TEXAS:
CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby approved Change Order No. 13 to the
contract with F & E Erection Company for the second phase of expansion of the
Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant which provides for potable water supply at the
chlorine buildings, all as more fully set forth in the change order, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $11,702.98 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund.
Section 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is; made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 15th day of February, 1984.

PART A: NECESSITY OF THE CHANGE ORDER:
This Change Order involves supplying both the East and West Chlorine
Buildings with a potable water supply, es requested by the City of
Corpus Christi. The work will provide for a back-up water supply for
the chlorination system.
PART B: DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:
Immediately south of the existing east chlorine building near coordinates
56+34N & 110+64E, a tap will be installed on a new P.V.C. potable water
line and a 3" P.V.C. potable water line will be installed from the tap
to the East Chlorine Building. A backflow preventer will be installed
to prevent any cross connection between potable and non -potable water.
Immediately east of Blower House 91 near coordinates 55+49N & 105+35E,
a P.V.C. tee fitting will be installed on a new P.V.C. potable water line
and a 3" P.V.C. potable water line will be installed from the tee to the
West Chlorine Building. Again, a backflow preventer will be installed
to prevent any cross connection between potable and non -potable water.
