HomeMy WebLinkAbout18120 ORD - 03/14/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17551 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: Woodlawn Estates 1. Woodlawn and Daly Drives, from Williams Drive to South Padre Island Drive; Alameda Estates 2. Eldon Drive, from Gaines Street to South Alameda Street; and 3. Delano Drive and Walton Place, from Robert Drive to Eldon Drive. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17551, passed and approved April 6, 1983, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: Woodlawn Estates 1. ,Woodlawn and Daly Drives, from Williams Drive to South Padre Island Drive; Alameda Estates 2. Eldon Drive, from Gaines Street to South Alameda Street, and 3. Delano Drive and Walton Place, from Robert Drive to Eldon Drive. a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular SEP 2 81984 ifiGROFILMED 18120 Sib meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 14th day of March, 1984. BRUCE YCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY By As 41! ty ttorney MAYOR THE CIT F CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL W00DLAWN AND ALAMEDA ESTATES STREET IMPROVEMENTS 1, The Woodlawn and Alameda Estates construction shall include improvements to the following streets: Woodlawn Estates 1. Woodlawn and Daly Drives, from Williams Drive to South Padre Island Drive, Alameda'Estates 2. Eldon Drive, from Gaines Street to South Alameda Street, and 3. Delano Drive and Walton Place, from Robert Drive to Eldon Drive. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a 6" concrete curb, a 2' wide gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" flexible caliche base and 11/2" Hot Mix asphaltic surface. The street width will be 28' within the existing right-of-way. Reinforced concrete sidewalks, 4' wide, and reinforced concrete driveways, 6" thick,will be constructed as shown on the plans. Replacement of existing waterlines in the streets with 6" and 8" diameter pipe will be accomplished on all streets except Woodlawn Drive. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's current .paving policy. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by Maverick Construction Company, the assessment rates are as follows: Bid Price Assessment Rate 28' Wide Street, BOC 6" Curti; Gutter &`Pavement $11.42 L.F. -$11.42 L.F.
