HomeMy WebLinkAbout18125 ORD - 03/14/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF TRW, INC. BY GRANTING A REVISED SPECIAL COUNCIL PERMIT ON A PORTION OF LOT B-1, SOUTH STAPLES CENTER TO ALLOW FOR AN OUTSIDE STORAGE TANK; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its, reports and recommendations concerning the application of TRW, Inc. for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, March 14, 1984, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: - SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That a Revised Special Council Permit be granted on a portion of Lot 6-1, South Staples Center, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, described by metes and bounds below, to allow for an outside storage tank in accordance with the site plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A", and all other considerations of "B-4" General Business District: Being a portion of Lot B-1, recorded in Volume 33, Page 78, Nueces County, Texas. BEGINNING at a 3/4" iron pipe Block 8-1, such point also bei line of Caddo Street; South Staples Center, as Nueces County Map Records, on the northeast corner of ng on the west right-of-way THENCE South 28°49'20" West for a distance of 141.8'± to a 5/8" iron rod, such point also being the northeast corner of Block 6-3, South Staples CentermiuKaFILMED `SEP 2 8 100 A 18125 THENCE North 61°10'40" West for a distance of 347.37'± to a point for corner; THENCE South 28°49'20" West for a distance of 146.09'± to a point for corner; THENCE South 03°11'46" East for a distance of 152.93'± to a point for corner, such point also being on the north right-of-way line of Gollihar Road; THENCE West along a curve, which is the north right-of-way line of Gollihar Road, whose delta angle is 41°28'43" having a radius of 160', for a distance of 30.17'± to a 5/8" iron rod, such point also being the northeast corner of Block A; THENCE North 61°10'40" West for a distance of 390'± to a point for corner; THENCE North 28°49'20" East for a distance of 146'± to a point for corner; THENCE North 61°10'40" West for a distance of 10'± to a point for corner; THENCE North 28°49'20" East for a distance of 290'± to a point for corner; THENCE South 61°10'40" East to the point of beginning, such area containing approximately 4.83 acres of land, more or less. In the event the Board of Adjustment grants any special exception or variance to the Zoning Ordinance, applicable to the Special Permit herein granted, other than the one specified in this Special Permit, said Special Permit shall be void and of no force and effect whatsoever. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall to ffect pon first ding as an emergency measure this the if7"t— day of , 19 ATTEST: MAYOR 7APP�2Q]�,DDAY OF , 19'4 : J.
