AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE CITY CODE TO PROVIDE
FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF UNIFORM CHARGES FOR THE
DUPLICATION OF PUBLIC RECORDS; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Chapter 17, Finance and Taxation, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended, be amended by
changing Section 17-1 thereof to hereafter read as follows:
Sec. 17-1. Establishment of Charges for copies of public records.
The City Manager is authorized to establish reasonable charges
for the production of photocopies of various public records
maintained by the City. Such charges shall be calculated to
provide adequate compensation for the time and expense incurred
by the City in providing such copies.
SECTION 2. That the following provisions of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended be deleted in
their entirety:
Section 17-1.1. Charges for elevation information (Chapter 17
Finance and Taxation).
Section 23-42. Certificates of Births, Deaths, and Fetal
Deaths --issuance of certified copies; fee (Chapter 23, Health and
Sanitation).
Section 23-43. Duplication of immunization records (Chapter 23
Health and Sanitation).
Section 43-11. Charges for copies of accident and criminal
police reports (Chapter 43, Police).
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its
publication one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi, which publication shall contain the caption stating in summary the
purpose of the ordinance.
