APPROPRIATING $317,671 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 9 OF
THE CITY HALL SITE PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $317,671 out of the City
Hall Bond Fund, Project Number 210-83-1, for the acquisition of Parcel 9 of the
City Hall Site Project, said parcel being described by metes and bounds
description which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by
appropriating the funds necessary for the acquisition of the abovementioned
parcel of land at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is
made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency
measure this the 9th day of May, 1984.

Lots Three (3), Four (4), Five (5), and Six (6),
Block Forty -Four (44), BLUFF PORTION of the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas, according to the map or
plat thereof recorded in Volume A, Page 3, Map
Records, Nueces County, Texas, SAVE AND ACCEPT
however, those portions of said lots conveyed by
Ranald M. Garrison, Individually and as Trustee,
to City of Corpus Christi, by Deed dated December
1, 1967, recorded in Volume 1247, Page 357, Deed
Records, Nueces County, Texas, described by metes
and bounds as follows;
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 6, for a
corner of this tract;
Thence, South 0 degree 28 minutes West with the
west right of way line of North Staples Street
and the east boundary line of Lots 3, 4, 5, and
6, a distance of 200 feet to the southeast corner
of Lot 3, and a corner of this tract;,
Thence, North 89 degrees 32 minutes West with the
south boundary line of Lot 3, a distance of 2.10
feet to a point for a corner of this tract;
Thence, North 0 degree 11 minutes 54 seconds West
crossing Lots 3, 4, 5, and 6, a distance of 200.01
feet to a point in the north boundary line of Lot
6 for a corner of this tract;
Thence, South 89 degrees 32 minutes East with the
north boundary line of Lot 6, a distance of 4.42
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
