HomeMy WebLinkAbout18225 ORD - 05/09/1984TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BASIC CONSTRUCTORS, INC. FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE ALLISON WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT; APPROPRIATING $4,700,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Basic Constructors, Inc. for the Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant, EPA Project No. C-48-1457-03, subject to approval of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Department of Water Resources, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Basic Constructors, Inc. said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $4,700,000 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 9th day of May, 1984.
