HomeMy WebLinkAbout18227 ORD - 05/09/1984AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AUSTIN STREET FROM THE WESTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY OF ROSSITER STREET TO ITS DEAD END APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET WEST; AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPLAT OF SAID PROPERTY. WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing concerning the closing of Austin Street from the westerly right-of-way of Rossiter Street to its dead end approximately 50 feet west, was given by publication and mailed to the last known addresses of the owners of property abutting the public way and within 450 feet of the area proposed to be closed, and thereafter, pursuant to said notice, public hearing was held at Regular Council Meeting by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi on April 25, 1984, in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter; and WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing that the aforesaid portions of right-of-way, proposed to be closed, are not needed now, nor will they be within the foreseeable future needed as public rights of way, and that the same should revert to the abutting property owners, subject to certain specified conditions: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned Austin Street from the westerly right-of-way of Rossiter Street to its dead end approximately 50 feet west; retaining a 10 foot wide utility easement along the westerly end and a five foot wide utility easement along the south end; providing that the south one third be reverted to Lot 6B, Block 1, Beverly Heights Subdivision, the middle one third be reverted to Lot 5, Block 1, Beverly Heights Subdivision, and the northerly portion to be reverted to Lot A, Block 613, Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, per attached exhibit; and providing that the property is replatted by the City of Corpus Christi. 18227 MICROFILMED.
