HomeMy WebLinkAbout18228 ORD - 05/16/1984TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17888 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: School Sidewalk Program, Phase I Project Site I Alexander Street, on the south side, from the northwest boundary of Edgewood Park to Fannin Elementary School near Devon Drive. Project Site II Through the Crockett Heights Subdivision along the north side of the City drainage and utility easement, from near Greenwood Drive to Burnet Street. Project Site III Rose and Pierpont Streets, along the west side, from Leopard Street to Roy Miller High School. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17888, passed and approved October 19, 1983, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: School Sidewalk Program, Phase I Project Site I Alexander Street, on the south side, from the northwest boundary of Edgewood Park to Fannin Elementary School near Devon Drive. Project Site II Through the Crockett Heights Subdivision along the north side of the City drainage and utility easement, from near Greenwood Drive to Burnet Street. Project Site III Rose and Pierpont Streets, along the west side, from Leopard Street to Roy Miller High School. a substantial copy of which assessment .role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." 18228 MICROFILMED SEP 2 81984 SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final assessment roll as aforesaid to correctly reflect the costs to be apportioned between the City and the owners of abutting property, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 16th day of May, 1984. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL SCHOOL SIDEWALK PROGRAM, PHASE I These improvements shall consist of the construction of sidewalks to serve various school locations and will be constructed at the following sites: Project Site I Alexander Street, on the south side, from the northwest boundary of Edgewood Park to Fannin Elementary School near Devon Drive. Project Site II Through the Crockett Heights Subdivision along the north side of the City drainage and utility easement, from near Greenwood Drive to Burnet Street. Project Site III Rose and Pierpont Streets, along the west side, from Leopard Street to Roy Miller High School. These sidewalks shall be constructed of 4" thick reinforced concrete and placed withinCityright-of-way. The sidewalks at Project Site I and II are to be 4' in width and at Project Site III the sidewalk will be 5' wide and tied to the street curb. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest policy adopted by the City. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by Garcia Construction Company, the assessment rates are as follows: Sidewalk 4 Ft. Wide 5 Ft. Wide Bid Price Assessment Rate $1.65 S.F. $1.65 S.F.
