AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 TO THE CONTRACT
WITH B-& B BUILDERS PROVIDING FOR POOL AREA IMPROVEMENTS AND
ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FEES AT MEADOW PARK RECREATION
CENTER; APPROPRIATING $12,435.30 FROM THE NO. 162-152-
807.07-502, 9TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT BLOCK FUND
TO BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $1,005.00 FROM THE PARK OPERATING
BUDGET NO. 102-518.47, CODE 345; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
Change Order No. 3 to the contract with 8 & B Builders providing for pool area
improvements, all as more fully set forth in the change order, a substantial
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $12,435.30 from the
No. 162-152-807.07-502, 9th Year Community Development Block Grant Fund to be
supplemented by $1,005.00 from the Park Operating Budget No. 102-518.47, Code,
345, Aquatics Building Maintenance of which $12,000 is for Change Order No. 3
and $1,440 is for additional architectural fees for this work to be amended to
the original contract with Green Design Group, applicable to Project No.
162-152-807.06-502, Meadow Park Recreation Center Expansion.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the necessity of
appropriating the sums hereinabove described at the earliest practicable date,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this 5th day of June, 1984.

3) Install and furnish new drinking fountain. Provide
plumbing installation as required.
4) Install and furnish one type "A" light fixture at
each restroom and one type "B" light fixture outside.
Provide electrical installation as required.
TOTAL $12,000.00
Why was this change necessary? (If left off the plans and specifications, explain why.)
Due to the numerous complaints received on the deteriorated conditions of these facilities,
the Park & Recreation Department has requested these improvements.
