CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT 97 FOOT LONG PORTION OF LAMBERT
STREET ADJACENT TO LOT 15, BLOCK 10, PARK PLAZA ADDITION
UNIT 3; AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPLAT OF SAID PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing concerning
the closing of that 97 foot long portion of Lambert Street adjacent to Lot 15,
Block 10, Park Plaza Addition Unit 3, shown by plat in Volume 25, Page 42, Map
Records, Nueces County, Texas, was given by publication and mailed to the last
known addresses of the owners of property abutting the public way and within 450
feet of the area proposed to be closed, and thereafter, pursuant to said notice,
public hearing was held at Regular Council Meeting by the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi on May 16, 1984, in accordance with the provisions of the
City Charter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing that
the aforesaid portions of right-of-way, proposed to be closed, are not needed
now, nor will they be within the foreseeable future needed as public rights of
way, and that the same should revert to the abutting property owners, subject to
certain specified conditions:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned that 97 foot
long portion of Lambert Street adjacent to Lot 15, Block 10, Park Plaza'Addition
Unit 3, shown by plat in Volume 25, Page 42, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas,
providing that ownership be divided on the centerline and given to adjacent
owners; providing for replatting of said Lot 15; retaining a 10 foot wide
utility easement on the northeast, northwest and southwest sides; providing that
two 6"-8" high concrete -curbed traffic islands be constructed at applicant's
expense and as approved by the City Engineer at the entrance of the portion to
be closed.
