AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V,
INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, WHICH WILL
CHANGE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PORTIONS OF LAGUNA SHORES ROAD AND
AIRLINE ROAD; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
SECTION 1. That Sec. 53-254, Schedule V, of the Corpus Christi City
Code be amended by changing the speed limits on portions of Laguna Shores Road
and Airline Road as follows:
Laguna Shores Road:
Amend to read:
From a point 300 feet south of Graham Road to a point 200
feet north of Caribbean Drive -- 40 mph -- At All Times
Airline Road:
Delete all existing speed zone descriptions for Airline
Road, and
Amend to read:
From Ocean Drive to Holly Road -- 35 mph -- At All Times.
From Holly Road to Saratoga Blvd. -- 40 mph -- At All Times.
From Saratoga Blvd. to the City Limits -- 45 mph -- At All
Times.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of the
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
