HomeMy WebLinkAbout18277 ORD - 06/12/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17782 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: 1. Clemmer Street, from Ayers Street to Naples Street, 2. Dillon Lane, from Port Avenue to State Highway 286, and 3. Nemec Street, from Ayers Street to Hamlett Drive. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17782, passed and approved August 17, 1983, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: 1. Clemmer Street, from Ayers Street to Naples Street, 2. Dillon Lane, from Port Avenue to State Highway 286, and 3. Nemec Street, from Ayers Street to Hamlett Drive. a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances, or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 12th day of June, 1984. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY C,� MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS .18277 'SEP 28 i°q4 FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL CLEMMER AND NEMEC STREETS AND DILLON LANE STREET IMPROVEMENTS This project shall include construction of improvements to the following streets: 1. Clemmer Street, from Ayers Street to Naples Street, 2. Dillon Lane, from Port Avenue to State Highway 286 frontage road, and 3. Nemec Street, from Ayers Street to Hamlett Drive. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a 4" or 6" concrete curb, a 2' wide gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 11/2" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic surface. Clemmer Street will be 28' wide, Dillon Lane will be 40' wide and Nemec will be reconstructed on the south side. Reinforced concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and reinforced concrete driveways, 6" thick, will be constructed as shown on the plans. City work forces will replace existing waterlines on Clemmer and Nemec Streets. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's current paving policy. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by King Construc- tion Company the assessment rates are as follows: Bid Price Assessment Rate 40' Wide Street, BOC Curb, Gutter & Pavement $22.17 L.F. $19.50 L.F. 28' Wide Street, BOC Curb, Gutter & Pavement $12.72 L.F. $12.72 L.F.
