AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 18234 WHICH AUTHORIZED A SPECIAL
COUNCIL -PERMIT FOR TWO FREESTANDING ILLUMINATED SIGNS BY
CORRECTING THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION TO BEING PORTIONS OF LOTS 1
AND 2, COPP'S SUBDIVISION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 18234, approved May 16, 1984, which
which authorized a Special Council Permit for two freestanding illuminated signs
be amended by correcting the legal description to being portions of Lots 1 and
2, Copp's Subdivision as shown by the metes and bounds below:
LOCATION OF SIGN SHOWN IN DETAIL "A" OF EXHIBIT "I",
ATTACHED:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Lot 2, Block 2, Copp's
Subdivision as shown in Nueces County Map Records Volume 24,
Page 51.
THENCE, Northwest 61°40' 2 feet along said property line.
THENCE, Southwest 28°20' 28 feet to location of rear sign.
LOCATION OF SIGN SHOWN IN DETAIL "B" OF EXHIBIT "I",
ATTACHED:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 2, Copp's
Subdivision as shown in Nueces County Map Records of
Volume 24, Page 51.
THENCE, Southeast 61°40' 45 feet along said property line.
THENCE, Northeast 28°20' 2 feet to location of sign normal
to Tarlton Street.
Section 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to correct the legal description as abovementioned, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 12th day of June, 1984.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
