AN ORDINANCE
REPEALING SECTION 2-61 OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE AND IN
LIEU THEREOF ENACTING A POLICY OF ABSENCES FROM MORE THAN 25
PERCENT OF REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETINGS BY MEMBERS OF
BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES IN ONE TERM YEAR
RESULTING IN AUTOMATIC VACANCY, WHICH DOES NOT PRECLUDE
REAPPOINTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Sec. 2-61 of Chapter 2 of the City Code, including
the January 1984 amendment, is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof the following
policy is enacted:
Sec. 2-61. Absences from more than 25 percent of regularly
scheduled meetings during a term year on the part of any
board, committee or commission member shall result in an
automatic vacancy which vacancy shall be promptly reported
to the City Council. Any member otherwise eligible shall
not be precluded from reappointment by reason of such
automatic vacancy.
