HomeMy WebLinkAbout18315 ORD - 07/03/1984AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $10,000 FROM THE NO. 260 FIRE DEPARTMENT BUILDING BOND FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF FURNITURE, APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT RELATED TO THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FIVE POINTS FIRE STATION; AUTHORIZING THE STAFF TO PURCHASE SAID EQUIPMENT BASED ON COMPETITIVE BIDS FROM VARIOUS SUPPLIERS AND VENDORS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY' COUNC.IL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $10,000 from the No. 260 Fire Department Building Bond Fund for the purchase of furniture, appliances and equipment related to the operation and maintenance of the Five Points Fire Station. SECTION 2. That the staff is hereby authorized to purchase said equipment based on competitive bids from various suppliers and vendors. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the necessity of appropriating the sum hereinabove described at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 3rd day of July, 1984.
