HomeMy WebLinkAbout18331 ORD - 07/10/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF DI -SUN ENTERPRISES BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO LOTS 1 AND 11, AND A PORTION OF LOTS 2 AND 10, BLOCK A, PARK PLACE FROM "A-2" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT TO "AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Di -Sun Enterprises for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, July 10, 1984, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve th e hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on Lots 1 and 11, and a portion of Lots 2 and 10, Block A, Park Place, Nueces County, Texas, as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "A-2" Apartment House District to "AB" Professional Office District. All of Lots One (1) and Eleven (11), and a portion of Lots Two (2) and Ten (10), Park Place, a subdivision of the City of Corpus Chrsiti, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 2, Page 50, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, to which reference is here made for all pertinent purposes, and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit: 18331 MICROFILMED SEP 2 81984 BEGINNING at a 3/4" iron pipe found for the SE corner of Lot 1 and POINT OF BEGINNING of this tract; THENCE along the Westerly right-of-way of Tancahua Street N 1°30'30"W at 67.00' pass the common corner of Lots 1 and 2, in all a distance of 70.08' to a 5/8" iron rod for a corner of this tract; THENCE with the south line of a tract owned by P. E. Burkett described by Deed recorded in Volume 1622, Page 352, Deed Records, Nueces County, Texas, S88°22'00"W 140.00' to a 5/8" iron rod for a corner of this tract; THENCE along the Westerly boundary of the P. E. Burkett property N 2°00'31"W 54.60' to a 5/8" iron rod for a corner of this tract; THENCE along the north line of Lot 10, Park Place, S84°32'00"W 76.80' to a 5/8" iron rod for the common front corner of Lots 9 and 10, and a corner of this tract; THENCE along the east right-of-way of Carrizo Street S10°02'00"E at 69.00' pass the common corner of Lots 10 and 11, in all a distance of 138.00' to the southwest corner of Lot 1 and of this tract; THENCE N83°26'00"E 197.40' to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 10th day of July, 1984.
