HomeMy WebLinkAbout18342 ORD - 07/17/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF LON HIPP AND BILL HOLLAND BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OUT OF LOT 20, SECTION 12, FLOUR BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS, FROM "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT TO "B-3" BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Lon Hipp and Bill Holland for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, July 17, 1984, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion out of Lot 20, Section 12, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "A-1" Apartment House District to "B-3" Business District: FIELDNOTES for 10.04 acres of land out of Lot 20, Section 12, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Pages 41, 42, & 43, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas: BEGINNING at a 3/4 inch iron pipe found on the centerline of Wooldridge Road (60.00 feet wide) same being the common corner of Lot 21, Section 12, said Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts and said Lot 20, Section 12, for the East corner of this tract; THENCE, South 29°00'00" West, with the common boundary line of said Lot 20, and Lot 21, a distance of 662.77 feet for the South corner of this tract; 18342 MICROFILMED SEP 2 81984 THENCE leaving said common boundary line of Lot 20 and Lot 21, North 60°59'14" West 660.00 feet to a point on the common boundary line of Lot 19, Section 12, said Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts and said Lot 20 for the West corner of this tract; THENCE North 29°00'00" East, with said common boundary line of Lot 19 and Lot 20, a distance of 662.49 feet to a point on said centerline of Wooldridge Road for the North corner of this tract; THENCE South 61°00'40" East, along said centerline of Wooldridge Road, 660.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 17th day of July, 1984.
