AMENDING CHAPTER 29, MUNICIPAL COURTS, SECTION 29-18,
SAME --RESETTING OF CASE, OF THE CITY CODE BY WAIVING THE $25
FEE CHARGED FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A WARRANT OF ARREST TO ANY
INDIVIDUAL WHO VOLUNTARILY COMES TO MUNICIPAL COURT AND
PAYS, DURING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 22, 1984 THROUGH OCTOBER
15, 1984, AN OUTSTANDING FINE ON A COMPLAINT FOR WHICH A
WARRANT HAS BEEN ISSUED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 29, Municipal Courts, Section 29-18,
Same --Resetting of case, of the City Code be amended by waiving the $25 fee
charged by Municipal Court for the issuance of a warrant of arrest to any
individual who voluntarily comes to Municipal Court and pays, during the period
August 22, 1984, through October 15, 1984, an outstanding fine on a complaint
for which a warrant has been issued.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending
the City code as aforementioned, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 21st day of August, 1984.

For the reasons set forth'in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
