AMENDING THE 1984-85 BUDGET BY ADJUSTING VARIOUS ESTIMATED
REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES IN VARIOUS FUNDS; AND DECLARLNG AN
EMERGENCY. fes.
WHEREAS, the
transfers of in lieu of
Gas Fund to the General
WHEREAS, it
reflect that change:
City Council has adopted a policy terminating the
franchise and property taxes from the Water Fund and the
Fund; and
is therefore necessary to amend the 1984-85 Budget to
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following amendments and adjustments to the
1984-85 Budget are authorized:
(1) That the following estimated revenues in the General Fund are
hereby cancelled:
Gas Fund - In lieu of Franchise Tax
Gas Fund - In lieu of Property Tax
Water Fund - In lieu of Franchise Tax
Water Fund - In lieu of Property Tax

(2) Expenditures appropriations for Water Fund in Lieu of Franchise
and Property Taxes and Gas Fund in Lieu of Franchise and Property Taxes are
hereby cancelled.
(3) A new appropriation be established in the Gas Fund in the amount
of $1,273,500 for payment to General Obligation Debt Service to offset part of
the cost of debt on general obligation bonds for wastewater purposes.
(4) A new appropriation be established in the Water Fund in the
amount of $418,000 for payment to General Obligation Debt Service for general
obligation debt for wastewater purposes.
(5) That estimated revenues in the General Obligation Debt Service
Fund be adjusted by adding estimated revenue from the Gas Fund in the amount of
$1,273,500 and estimated revenue from the Water Fund in the amount of $418,000
and estimated revenue from the Marina Fund in the amount of $55,000, and
reducing estimated ad valorem taxes from $10,986,080 to $9,239,580.
(6) That estimated General Fund revenues from ad valorem taxes be
revised from $21,932,760 to $23,508,960.

(7) Revenue sharing expenditure appropriations for capital outlay and
improvement projects be reduced by $300,000 and expenditure appropriations for
General Fund support be increased by $300,000.
(8) General Fund estimated revenue from the Revenue Sharing Fund be
increased from $1,266,000 to $1,566,000.
(9) General Fund revenues be increased by adding $50,000 from
bayfront leases.
(10) Marina revenue be adjusted by increasing estimated revenue from
bayfront leases by $100,000, and expenditure appropriations be adjusted by
adding $55,000 for payment to General Obligation Debt Service and adding
appropriations for the Junior Sailing Program in the amount of $19,600 and
increasing the appropriation for maintenance projects by $25,400.
(11) That the following General Fund appropriations be cancelled:
a. City Manager's Office, activity 501.11, code 506 - $5,000
b. City Council, activity 501.02, code 353 - $4,000
c. Fire Stations, activity 516.41, codes 101 and 109 - $36,000

d. La Retama Library, activity 519.01, code 514 - $14,000
e. Corpus Christi Museum, activity 518.11, codes 101 and 109 -

(12) That the General Fund Reserve appropriation be reduced by

Attachment "A".
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient administration of City affairs by amending the 1984-85 Budget
as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or
resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall
take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure the the 4th day of
September, 1984.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
