HomeMy WebLinkAbout18458 ORD - 09/11/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE A PORTION OUT OF LOT 1, OSO FARM TRACTS, FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Corpus Christi Independent School District for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, September 4, 1984, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion out of Lot 1, Oso Farm Tracts, as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "R-18" One -family Dwelling District to "AB" Professional Office District: Fieldnotes for 5.22 acres of land proposed for "AB" zoning, out of Lot 1, Oso Farm Tracts, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Page 49, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas; BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the south right-of-way line of 60 foot wide Lamont Street and the West right-of-way line of 80 foot wide Everhart Road, as shown in Park Terrace Unit 2, a map of record in Volume 24, Page 47, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, for the East corner of this tract and the point of beginning; THENCE S 29° W with said West right-of-way line of Everhart Road, a distance of 512.47 feet, more or less, to a point, for the South corner of this tract; 18458 "SEP 2 81984 ROFILMED THENCE N 61°30'30" W, a distance of 480.00 feet, more or less, to a point, for the West corner of this tract; THENCE N 29° E, a distance of 402.47 feet, more or less, to a point, for the Westerly North corner of this tract; THENCE S 61°30'30" E, a distance of 170.00 feet, more or less, to a point, for the interior corner of this tract; THENCE N 29° E, a distance of 110.00 feet, more or less, to a point on the aforementioned South right-of-way line of Lamont Street for the Easterly North corner of this tract; THENCE S 61°30'30" E, with said South right-of-way line of Lamont Street, a distance of 310.00 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance'and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 4th day of September, 1984.
