HomeMy WebLinkAbout18462 ORD - 09/11/1984AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $600,000 FROM THE WATER BOND FUND FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF ALTERNATE WATER SUPPLY, INCLUDING TEN OR MORE WATER PUMPS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON VARIOUS WATER WELLS, CONSULTING AND LEGAL FEES AND THE LEASE OF LAND AND/OR WATER WELLS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $600,000 from the Water Bond Fund for expenses related to the research and development of alternate water supply, including ten or more water pumps and related equipment for use on various water wells, consulting and legal fees and the lease of land and/or water wells. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the necessity of appropriating the sums hereinabove described at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this llth day of September, 1984.
