HomeMy WebLinkAbout18483 ORD - 09/25/1984AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BROWN & CALDWELL-FREESE & NICHOLS, INC. FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A WASTEWATER MASTER PLAN FOR THE OSO AND A PORTION OF THE WESTSIDE SERVICE AREA, AS WELL AS AN AREA SOUTH OF OSO CREEK; APPROPRIATING $260,600; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Brown & Caldwell -Freese & Nichols, Inc. for the development of a Wastewater Master Plan for the Oso and a portion of the Westside service area, as well as an area south of Oso Creek, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Brown & Caldwell -Freese & Nichols, Inc., said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $260,600 from the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 25th day of September, 1984.
