HomeMy WebLinkAbout18486 ORD - 09/25/1984AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF NUECES NEWS AGENCY, INC. BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OUT OF LOT 1, BLOCK 1, ST. CLAIR INDUSTRIAL PARK, FROM "B-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Nueces News Agency, Inc. for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, September 25, 1984, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion out of Lot 1, Block 1, St. Clair Industrial Park, as described by metes and bounds below, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "B-4" General Business District to "I-2" Light Industrial District: BEING 1.842 acres of land, more or less, being the east portion of Lot 1, Block 1, St. Clair Industrial Park, recorded in Volume 47, Page 91, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and said 1.842 acre tract being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the southeast corner of this tract, said corner being on the west right-of-way line of North Padre Island Drive, and also being the southeast corner of said Lot 1; THENCE West, 371.09 feet, to the southwest corner of this tract; THENCE North, 226.50 feet, to the northwest corner of this tract; 18486 THENCE East, 350.00 feet, to the northeast corner of this tract, being on the west right-of-way line of North Padre Island Drive; THENCE South, along said right-of-way line, to a turning point in said right-of-way; THENCE continuing along said right-of-way line, S 12° 58' 00" E, 94.00 feet, to the point of beginning and containing 1.842 acres of land, more or less. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 25th day of September, 1984.
