HomeMy WebLinkAbout18524 ORD - 10/23/1984AN ORDINANCE UTILIZING PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED FUNDING FOR THE ANIMAL SHELTER IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING $9,700.98 REPRESENTING FUNDS REMITTED BY THE GULF COAST HUMANE SOCIETY FOR ITS SHARE OF CONSTRUCTION COSTS ON NAVIGATION BOULEVARD AND REMAINING PROJECT ALLOCATIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the previously appropriated funds for the construction, testing, planning and engineering and contingencies for the Animal Shelter Improvements be utilized. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $9,700.98 representing funds remitted by the Gulf Coast Humane Society for its share of construction costs on Navigation Boulevard and remaining project allocations. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the necessity of appropriating the sums hereinabove described at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 23rd day of October, 1984.
