APPROPRIATING 015,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND RESERVE FOR THE
LOCAL MATCH TO THE NEA CITYARTS GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR
THE VARIOUS ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS. AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS
SECTION 1 There is hereby appropriated 115,000 from the General Fund
Reserve for the local match to the NEA CityArts grant
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
agreements providing financial assistance for various arts and cultural
programs as listed below
a Art Community Center for 81,000 for the Visiting Artist Program
(August 18-23, 1985),
b. Corpus Christi Arts Council for $8,062 for the provision of Technical
Assistance Workshops, the Arts Newsletter, the Sound Sculpture Exhibit and
Residency Program, and the organizational meeting for Volunteer Lawyers and
Accountants for the Arts;
0000 -TV for $3,111 for the production of the educational film, "Texas: The
Song in Your Art", and
d. KKED-FM 90 for 82,500 for the production of the weekly radio program, "State
of the Art".
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
appropriate the abovementl0ned funds at the earliest practicable date. such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 4th day of December, 1984.

or esolutIon, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or solutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend sald Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date It Is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
