RIMMING ORDINANCE NO. B127, AS AMENDED BY AMENDING
SUBSECTIONS 509, 551.5, AND 551 7 AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRIST/,
SECT/ON 1. That Subsection 509 Application of the Compensation
p:srtrons in the Unclassified Service, be amended mo hereafter read
.In accordance wiN Article IV, Section 1 of the City
Charter, the City Council shall, In cooperation wrth
the City Manager, at the beginning of each fiscal year,
establish the salary ranges for the managerial grOOD
and other positions in Ne unclassrfred and classified
service by fixing the minimum and maiamum amount for
those posmtions, and fOrther more, these ranges shall
remain constant during that fsscal year unless
others/Ise authorized by the City Council in cooperation
with the City Manager."
SECTION 2 That the last sentence of Subsection 551.5, Rate of
Pay on Promotion, be amended to hereafter read as follows
"Salary levels resulting from appointments to Council-
appornted positions within the Managerial Group shall
be determined solely by the Crty Council. The City
Manager shall prior to confirmation discuss with the
City Council Ne salary levels of those appointments
which require Council confirmation."
SECTION 3 That Subsection 551.7, Claseificablon/Txtle Changes
Wrthin the Managerial Group
.551 7 Classificatson/Title Changes Within the
Managerial Croup.
At the beginning of each fiscal year, the City COUncrl,
upon recommendation of the Csty Manager, shall set
minimum and maxi.la salary ranges for each position
assigned to the Managerial Group Throughout the
fiscal year, employee salary levels, appointments,
reclassrfroations, and title changes within the
Managerial Group, wrth the exception of Council -
appOinted positions, shall be determined by the City
Manager provided such changes are mode within the
salary ranges that have been authorized In cooperation
with the City Council and w1thin the approprratron of
total salaries funded for the fiscal year. The City
Manager shall prOaCitly notify the City Council of

set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or solutions at three
regular meetings. I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
