AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BLACK BROTHERS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE REHABILITATION AND LIGHTING
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE WEST OSO HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS.
APPROPRIATING $32,210.79, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Black Brothers Construction Company for the rehabilitation and
lighting improvements to the West Oso High School Tennis Courts, all as more
fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file
III the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by
reference and according to the bid of Black Brothers Construction Company, said
bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Carpus Christi.
SECTION 2 That there is hereby appropriated $32,210.79 from the
No. 291 Park Bond Fund and utilizing previous appropriation in the amount of
$42,789.21 authorized by Ordinance No. 18076 dated February 8, 1984
SECTION 3 That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances orresolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
s passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 2nd day of January, 1985
