AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO COASTAL LEASE
84-006 FROM THE SCHOOL LAND BOARD FOR 12.95 ACRES ALONG
CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute an
amendment to Coastal Lease 84-006 from the School Land Board for 12.95 acres
along Corpus Christi Beach, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A."
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
execute the abovementioned amendment at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 15th day of January, 1985.

Pursuant to the approval of this amendment by the School Land Board on
December 18, 1984, 1t 1s hereby agreed by the parties to Coastal Lease No.
CL 84-004 issued by the School Land Board of the State of Texas (Lessor) to
the City o£ Corpus Christi (Lessee), effective as of the lath day of July,
1904, that the property description in the lease he amended as follows:
That the lease area of 121 acres (more or less) shall

Corpus Christi Bay Tract 59 as described in Exhibits A and

Describing an area consisting of 0.83 acre (more or less), located an
State Tract 59, Corpus Christi Bay and immediately west of and adjacent to
a 121 -acre (more or less) tract, leased to the City of Corpus Christi by
the State of Texas under Lease No. CL -84-004 effective as of the 17thday
of July 1984, a,d further described by metes and booths as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the west R.0.W. line of N.
Shoreline Blvd. 100 the mean high water line at 0.72 elevation, as shown on
Exhibit B of said Lease No. CL -84-004, for the southernmost corner of this
tract and the point of beginning;
THENCE in a northerly direction, with the meanders said high mean water
line at 0.72 elevation, to its intersection with the northwesterly
tension of the northerly boundary line of said 121 -arse tract leased from
the State of Texas to the City of Corpus Christi for Ne westernmost corner
of this tract,
THENCE in an easterly direction with said northwesterly extension of the
northerly boundary line of the aforementioned 121 -acre tract, N its
intersection with the west R.O W. line of N. Shoreline Blvd. for the
easterly corner of this tract, the same being the northernmost corner of
s 121 -acre tract.
THENCE 1n a southwesterly direction, with the west R.O.W. line of N.
Shoreline Blvd., to the POINT OF BEGIN11NG.

July 1984, and further described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the mean high water line at 0.72'
elevation as established by State Survey lane an May 1977, and the
northwesterly extension of the northerly boundary lane of said 121 -acre
tract for the point of beginning.
THENCE an a southeasterly direction with said northerly boundary of the
121 -acre tract and mts aforementioned extension to its intersectv0n with
the easterly boundary lane of sand 121 acre tract for the easternmost
coiner of this tract;
THENCE innorthwesterly direction with a lane a a 45 degree angle
measured form the northerly line of said 121 -tract, toiis intersection

corner of this tract.
THENCE an a southwesterly direction with said east H.O.W. 1000 of existing
State Highway 181 to its intersection with the aforementioned mean high
